Dimitris Sarris was born on July 7, 1982 at Drapetsona of Piraeus, Greece. He graduated from 2nd High School of Drapetsona in 2000.
He studied Oenology & Beverage Technology in Technological Educational Institute of Athens from which he graduated in 2005. He gained his Master of Science degree in Food Biotechnology (with Merit) from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2006. In January 2014 he gained his PhD degree in Food Biotechnology at Agricultural University of Athens. During his PhD thesis, he has also been participated in two scientific projects in their acquisition and application.
From October 2009 till July 2012 he was employed as non-permanent Junior Lecturer in Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly, Department of Food Technology.
He holds two sensory analysis WSET/WSPC certificates: WSET Foundation Certificate and WSET Professional Certificate in Spirits.
He spends loads of his free time on his bicycle. He loves cooking and travelling and he adores photography, reading, writing and hiking. He is always in for wine, beer, spirits tasting/sensory analysis.
He is married with Marina Kandroudi and they have a son. They all live together with their cat Mimis.
